THE BEE IS BACK—SPELL IT 2010
Vashon Community Scholarship Foundation presents a
Community Spelling Bee for Spellers ages 12-112
Sunday, February 28, 2010, 3:00 pm
Vashon High School Theater
• Help us raise scholarships for the Class of 2010 and show off
your spelling at the same time!
• Don’t want to spell in public? Sponsor a team of other spellers
• Just want to support VCSF? Purchase an ad in the “Spell It” program!
How it works:
“Spell It” will be conducted in the manner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee with one very
Important exception: there will be teams of spellers rather than individuals.
Each 3-member team will be given a pre-determined length of time to confer among themselves on the correct spelling; then they will select one person to officially spell the word for the Emcees, Judges and the audience.
The Emcees will provide the word origin, definition and proper usage if requested by the team. Upon receiving your registration form and fee, you will be given references for further study and the rules of the contest.
This competitive yet light-hearted event will fund scholarships for the Vashon
School District Class of 2010 for post-high school education.
